In order to provide virtual personal assistants to more android devices, Google announced Thursday that Google Assistant will be made available on the older Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system (OS).

Google Assistant Program Manager Maksim Mukha said in a statement:

"We are also adding Android Lollipop to that list, for which Google Assistant is available. This will be released to those users who have placed their phones in the English language in India, USA, Australia, Canada and UK. Apart from this, it will also be available for the Spanish language users in America, Mexico and Spain. "

Mukha said, "Google Assistant is being issued for addition to Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil and Korea also."

Earlier this year, the technology giants had released their Voice Assistant for Android Marsmello OS with Google Play Services.

In the meantime, to promote Internet adoption in India, the company has released its lightweight OS Android Orio earlier this month.

Android Orio is built for entry-level Android smartphones, which has less than 1GB RAM. This OS runs Smooth despite low RAM, low memory and low storage space.
